BR 1-13: Alice in Wonderland (Carroll, 2006)

Review
Favorite line: Suddenly, it dipped and Alice found herself falling down a deep well.

Its line is the start of the adventure. I like this line because it makes my heart beat quickly. I was surprised at what Alice became bigger and smaller by eating food or drinking. She could go into the small door by becoming smaller. It is very interesting for me. Alice met a lot of animals in the wonderland. They are very unique. After I have finished reading this book, I wanted to go to the wonderland. If I was able to go, I would have a pleasant experience.

BR 1-04: The Twelve Dancing Princesses (The Brothers Grimm, early 1800s)

Favorite line "I thought I said one night only! said the king, but he smiled."

Review
There were once twelve beautiful princesses.Their father , the king, was a grumpy old man who didn't believe in hsving fun. The tings they argued about most was dancing, but their father hated it.They loved dancing, so whenever he was't looking they danced anyway.

Even night, the king locked the tower door where princesses slept, so they couldn't sneak out. However, the shoes which they wore in dancing were found on the floor. When the king heard it, he was furious. He told them that they shouldn't be out dancing all night. However, they went to dance and they wouldn't tell him how they had escaped or where they had been.

The king had a brilliant idea. He decided that first man to discover where his daughters went each night could marry one of them. One man came to discover that. The man failed, because he slept by drinking cocoa. Cocoa which made person sleepy was given by princess. Many men came, but everyone failed.

One day, a magician named Ralph and his pet dog, Rascal came. Night came and Ralph was put in the same room where the others had stayed. A few minute later, princess brought him a cuo of cocoa. He pretended to drink the cocoa, and pretended to fall fast asleep. Princesses thought he slept, so they get ready. There was secret door to go outside. One by one girls disappeared down some steps and into a long, dark tunnel. After that, Ralph clicked his finger and a cloak appeared. With a second click, he vanished, and tiptoed down the steps into the tunnel. There was castle and handsome princes. They reached there, a band began to play. The princesses danced.

Next day, Ralph told the king what he’d seen. He showed evidence, so the king believed. True to his word, the king let Ralph marry one of his daughters. The wedding was a joyful occasion. Even the king couldn't stop smiling. "As it's a special occasion, you may all dance, but for one night only" said the king, but he smiled. Ralph had worked some more of his magic.

I thought the king who was grumpy changed. He smiled in the last. I was very surprised and I became to like him, so I decided that line was favorite. Ralph's action made him change. I considered it was his magic!!  This story was very fun.

BR 1-01: Stories of Mermaids (Russell, 2005)

Favorite line       " I can' take any more! " said Gingerbeard.

review
There are three stories of mermaids. My favorite story is the marmaid whose mother falls ill. The marmaid's name is Harmony. It is need polkadot seaweed, taken twice a day for one week to cure her mother. It only grows in the Pirates' Graveyard. They say it is haunted by the ghost of Gingerbeard. He was the fiercest pirate to sail the Seven Seas. The marmaid go there with fear. She swims nervously between the creepy wrecks. When she found it, a terrifying figure appeared from nowhere. It was Gingerbeard's ghost. He thought Harmony went here to steal his treasure, so he locked her in a cabin. Harmony tried to cheer herself up by singing., but all her songs came out sounding sad. While he listened her voice, he began to feel as sorry for Harmony. After a week of the singing, Gingerbeard had had enough. He sobbed "I can't take any more!" and "Please just go home and take this chest with you." Harmony swam home as fast as she could. Her mother was cured. There were handfuls of coins in the chest. They thanks to his gold, and moved into a warm and  cosy new cave.

The Gingerbeard is sad the fiercest pirate to sail the Seven Seas, but I think he is kind. He was moved Harmony's singing. He feld sorry for her and gave chest. If he is bad man, he didn't do that. He would locked her for a long time. I also think Harmony's voice must be very beautiful. Her song made Gingerbeard changed. I would hear  her voice if I were able to go to that world.
